Your converter preferences are stored on your device. Shared links contain the selected cities and time; anyone with the link can read them.

Optional Google Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, campaign and referral sources, and completed converter actions. These include adjusting the slider or ring, adding a city, changing the reference city, entering a time, and successfully sharing a comparison. Opening and using a shared comparison can also be measured.

Google Analytics is blocked until you select Allow analytics. Declining is equally available and the converter works without Google Analytics. We use this opt-in approach for all visitors and do not load Google tags or send cookieless analytics pings before your permission.

We send only the public page path, a fixed site title, the origin of a referring website, controlled campaign labels and limited action categories such as view mode and number of cities. We do not send your selected cities, dates, times, search text, meeting details, comparison payload, advertising click IDs or other URL parameters. Do not include personal information in campaign labels.

After opt-in, Google can process network and device information, approximate geography and standard first-party analytics cookie identifiers to estimate visits and returning usage. We do not set a custom user ID or share identifier. Advertising storage, Google signals, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are disabled.

Your choice and retention

You can decline analytics or change your choice using Analytics preferences below. Withdrawing disables future collection, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site without refreshing the page. Your consent choice is stored on your device for up to six months, after which we ask again. Our analytics cookies are configured to expire after at most 60 days without extending that duration on each visit.

The selected retention period for user-level and event-level analytics data is two months. Aggregated standard reports can remain available longer under Google Analytics retention rules. Withdrawing consent does not automatically delete data already processed by Google.

Cloudflare aggregate analytics and hosting

Cloudflare hosts this site and provides separate aggregate Web Analytics where enabled by our regional settings. This can operate even when you decline Google Analytics. It helps us understand visits, page views, referring websites, broad country and device/browser information, and page performance. It does not send converter actions to Google or enable Google Analytics after you decline.

Cloudflare states that its analytics beacon does not use cookies or browser storage, fingerprint visitors, or track people across websites. It processes page and referral information and browser performance measurements, including a temporary identifier for the page load rather than a persistent visitor identifier. Cloudflare states that query strings are not logged in Web Analytics. We do not add selected cities, times or search text as Cloudflare analytics events.

Cloudflare processes network requests to deliver the site. For its Web Analytics service, Cloudflare states that the source IP address is discarded at the receiving data centre and is not stored in its core analytics databases or logs. Processing may occur outside your country; Web Analytics reports are available for the previous six months. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and its analytics data and privacy information.

When a shared comparison link or its preview image is requested, our Cloudflare server adds one to an aggregate count, labelled only as a page or image request, whether it came from a browser, a link-preview service or another automated client, and the site domain. This count does not use cookies or your device's storage and does not include the link's contents, your IP address, browser details or location. The counts are kept for three months.

Planned advertising

Advertising is currently disabled. We are preparing to apply for Google AdSense. Ownership verification, if configured, does not activate ads. Your analytics choice does not give permission for advertising.

If advertising is introduced, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to personalise ads. We will update this policy and provide the applicable consent and withdrawal controls before activating advertising. We will identify any additional advertising vendors used at that stage.
